ADGA Genetics

I can't believe Aylie is 6 years old, how time flies!  I love her strong feet and legs, and her balanced proportions and wide rump thurl to thurl allow her to have a great natural stride even with a very full udder.  She also has excellent breed character in her strong but feminine head.

Aylie is a very good example of dairy strength with a high rear udder arch, strong medial suspensory ligament, and great fore udder attachment.  I would like to see much more teat delineation and better overall udder attachment.  With the right balance , she has a lot of good qualities to pass on to her progeny and we have been very happy with her matches with Oznayim Mitch.  We are proud to say that ADGA has awarded Aylie with the Superior Genetics (SG) designation.

ADGA Genetics

A long and tall doe, Naomi excels in breed character with strong legs and feet. She comes together as a consistent package and in future generations I would like to add more width. She is an easy-going doe, well-behaved on the milking stand.  My milking schedule can be sporadic between twice-a-day and once-a-day, so milk test results reflect that.  The winter of 2016 Naomi was designated Superior Genetics by ADGA.

Naomi, who has the same marking on her neck as her mother Kaitlyn, is named in honor of my friend and mentor, Naomi Counides of the Oznayim herd.  What you see in my herd today and my vision for my herd in the future show Naomi’s influence. I could not be happier to have this beautiful doe from Kaitlyn and Kijana, and it took me about .5 seconds to realize that her name was destined to be Naomi. In Naomi, we also keep *B Wynneshire Starbuck’s Breve genetics on both sides. Our Jasper Farm Nubians Facebook page has more pictures of Naomi and our other goats.

Maggie udder

ADGA Genetics

La Gazzaladra = The Thieving Magpie = Maggie

As Maggie has matured she seems poised to follow in her grand-dam Dolly's footsteps as herd queen - when you visit the herd, be assured that Maggie will stay right by you to be sure you are behaving!  And she keeps the younger does in line as well...whether they need it or not.  🙂

She has an outstandingly beautiful head with strong breed character in her nose and ears.  I suspect that the white sprinkles around her eyes are really diamond-stars that she stole on her flight down to earth.  She is a powerful doe who we would like to see standing a bit taller but she still has room to grow so we’ll see.

Her mother and daughter are very milky but Maggie herself is not a high producer. She is drop-dead gorgeous tho, and brings strength of bone and breed character in spades. Wide, level rump, good rear leg angle, strong medial suspensory ligament, exceptionally easy keeper; she benefits from breeding to tall bucks who have potential to pass on a rounder udder. We are retaining kids from Maggie as we hope we can improve on her rump width, udder texture, and get some longer legs going in future generations, while retaining her width and depth of body, breed character, and "easy-keeper" constitution.
